Exploring skateboarding in the Netherlands

Creating Lines is a three-day event that explores how skateboarding in the Netherlands is constantly changing and developing. By joining forces with a diverse group of skateboard enthusiasts from different eras in skateboarding, we hope to learn from each other and make a positive contribution to our mutual passion.

Alongside our main events there will be skate- and post-skate sessions. Just make sure to visit Rotterdam on September 21, 22 and 23.

Creating Lines is initiated and organised by the SKATE48 foundation.

Talks

15:00 – 19:00

@ COOP010

Panel 1 – 40 Years of Skateboarding in Rotterdam

What are the most memorable moments in skate history? And what role has Rotterdam played in this rich history? Along with key figures from the local skate scene, we discuss iconic moments, spots and skateboarders that have made skateboarding in Rotterdam into what it is today. Rotterdam is known for its architecture and public squares, as much as it hosts a couple of massive skateparks. From Gerard Bakx and RSI to Colorblind’s Army and Bombaklats, this panel is all about skateboarding in Rotterdam.

Panel 2 – Future.  Who owns skateboarding?

Who owns skateboarding? Who makes noteworthy decisions? And what do you want skateboarding to be like? With participation of the audience, this panel discusses controversial topics and dilemmas that are part of everyday skateboarding. Primitive or Dufarge? Olympics or Pooligans? No-comply’s or hammers? Or would it be worth changing ‘or’ into ‘and’?
